Music – Cambridge Folk Festival – Megan Henwood

July 29, 2011 § Leave a comment

Our friend Megan Henwood has been touring the festival circuit all Summer long. The talented muzo has been gracing the stages of Oxfordshire for years, and we’ve watched her grow. Henwood, the winner of BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award two years ago at the tender age of 20, has a stupidly modest character and we genuinely believe she has no idea just how gifted she really is.

She possesses vocals reminiscent to Carol King and Sandy Denny with lyrics that articulate words of a wise old owl.  Her writing focuses on broader subject matter than your average female ‘try-hard’. This girl is one to watch, she will be winning awards for many years to come, so you’ll become quite familiar with this girl.

See her perform at the Cambridge Folk Festival on The Den Emerging Talent Stage, this Saturday 30th July 2011 (tomorrow).

If any of you Pop Store readers attend the fest, please let us know how it went. Muchos Thankos! x
