Trend – Speakeasy Bars – London

October 11, 2011 § Leave a comment

Your expanding knowledge of the ever growing number of London’s underground, speakeasy-style cocktail bars is making you more popular than ever.  Which is saying something, because everyone loves you anyway.

Being one of the few who knows exactly which of London’s distressed, unmarked doors can provide access to one of several secret, candlelit cocktail dens makes you….desirable.  But even you can take it up another notch: it’s time to visit the newest and for now, the most secret of London’s secret speakeasies.

Head to The Breakfast Club on Artillery Lane, just off Bishopsgate, where you’ll see a fairly normal looking SMEG fridge. Take your date by the hand, open the fridge door and walk through.

Inside you’ll find a moodily-lit cocktail bar that has exposed brickwork, an air of exclusivity, some great music and a wide selection of cocktails (from the Rosie and Gin to the Linchberg-Leith Lemonade).

Tip: The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town is open from 4pm-12:30am, and is currently dishing out £5 cocktails from 5pm – 8pm each day.

All you need is a secret ‘saying’, a password if you will. Today the Mayor is a hidden gem, but word is already getting out.  Ensure your spot at the bar by emailing you name, contact details and when you’d like to go to henri@themayorofscaredycattown.com
