What is A Room for London?
High up on the roof of Queen Elizabeth Hall, a riverboat appears to have come to rest…
A Room for London is a one-bedroom installation, available to rent by the public for night-long stays throughout 2012. During the year it will also transmit a programme of writing, performance and music.

Vintage is cool. Vintage clothes, fairs, homewares. You name it, old stuff is hot and we want a piece of the action. What about a vintage version of your favorite London magazine? Yes, that is right. Time Out’s first ever issue was just a double sided A2 sheet folded into A5 when it hit the streets in the summer of 1968 and it has never looked back, until now.
Download it to see what was hot in the late 60s….http://www.timeout.com/media/Time_Out_first_issue.pdf

Location: The Old Truman Brewery, The Loading Bay, Brick Lane, LONDON
Date: 4th-8th November 2011 (ONLY TWO DAYS LEFT)
Prepare for high (heeled) art at Shoes for Show. To those for whom shoes are just an intermediary between your foot and the ground, this free exhibition at the Old Truman Brewery will offer little in the way of cultural insight. But for anyone with even a glancing pedal interest, ‘Javari Presents The Sculptural Art of High Heels’ is well worth dipping a toe into. Curated by Shonagh Marshall, who has archived the collections of Christian Louboutin and Isabella Blow, it features stunning photography and many iconic shoes – including the Vivienne Westwood numbers that famously floored Naomi on the catwalk in 1993.
Christian Louboutin for the English National Ballet
Certain to create a buzz, the exhibition of couture shoes features a plethora of big name designers and owners. From the Gareth Pugh designed cuboid shoes for Beyonce’s Run the World music vid to the Swarovski embellished Christian Louboutin heeled ballet shoes, designed for the English National Ballet, there are some absolutely stunning examples of art meeting footwear featured in the exhibition.

We came across this really cool design in Moscow’s airport. Aptly named the sleep box it allows you to hire the room hourly to allow you to get some rest on those delayed or transfer flights. Designed by Arch Group they have added details to make the stay as relaxing as possible. LED reading lamps and sockets for laptops and mobiles, a bed and enough space to safely store your flight bags. We thought it deserved a pic or two…
