Location: The Old Truman Brewery, The Loading Bay, Brick Lane, LONDON
Date: 4th-8th November 2011 (ONLY TWO DAYS LEFT)
Prepare for high (heeled) art at Shoes for Show. To those for whom shoes are just an intermediary between your foot and the ground, this free exhibition at the Old Truman Brewery will offer little in the way of cultural insight. But for anyone with even a glancing pedal interest, ‘Javari Presents The Sculptural Art of High Heels’ is well worth dipping a toe into. Curated by Shonagh Marshall, who has archived the collections of Christian Louboutin and Isabella Blow, it features stunning photography and many iconic shoes – including the Vivienne Westwood numbers that famously floored Naomi on the catwalk in 1993.
Christian Louboutin for the English National Ballet
Certain to create a buzz, the exhibition of couture shoes features a plethora of big name designers and owners. From the Gareth Pugh designed cuboid shoes for Beyonce’s Run the World music vid to the Swarovski embellished Christian Louboutin heeled ballet shoes, designed for the English National Ballet, there are some absolutely stunning examples of art meeting footwear featured in the exhibition.

One of our brands causing a stir this Autumn is COMUNE. The line is has some very Autumnal influences, neutral and earthy tones with a soft and muted color palette.
Started by Southern California native Frank Delgadillo, Comune is a fresh, young label that aims to push boundaries with their clothing range, drawing inspiration from skateboarding, fashion, art and music. Teamed with footwear from high-tops to Cowboy boots, these denim styles look so current. Comune is a label that feels a little military, a bit workwear and even slightly preppy – all things we love.
With an array of styles from; slim fit to chinos and finishes from raw to waxed denim styles… there is a pair for you in there somewhere.
We are running a 40% Sale for a limited period only on our Comune denim line. So hurry to get your Autumn wardrobe updated.

London’s star power was seriously ramped up a few notches last week, when Beyonce and her mum Tina Knowles visited town to launch their House of Dereon Autumn/Winter 2011 collection at Selfridges.
We have a friend who is an insider at Selfridges HQ, she has kindly lent us a backstage photo from the show and we are oh so grateful for this snap!
House of Dereon is named after Beyonce’s grandmother (Tina’s mum) Agnes Dereon, who was a seamstress in Louisianna. Of course, Tina Knowles used to design the tour costumes for Destiny’s Child (which might go some way to explaining how Beyonce always got the fiercest looks), and the House of Dereon collections are no less showstopping than these outfits: think feathers, sequins and, for S/S ’12 some intesnse exotic prints.
To get your paws on some of Beyonce’s clobber, just click here > http://www.selfridges.com/en/Womenswear/?brandname=HOUSE+OF+DEREON&ppp=min&cm_re=module_ctas-_-module1-_-house_of_dereon

Our lovely friends at Matilda & Quinn have launched a oh so stylish boutique shop. We wanted to give you the good news, perfect timing as we’re all back to work following our not so sunny summer. Their classic styles can be worn during the day in the office without having to change for the evening from one season to the next.
Another reason why we love Matilda & Quinn so much is because they actively support the UK garment manufacturing industry and have made a concerted effort to work with the few high end manufacturers remaining in the UK.
Take a look at their new collection… Matilda & Quinn Online

We thought Niki Minaj was a trend-setter, but oh no, the 23-year-old co-founder of Dalston salon Bleach has been doing Minaj-style rainbow hair “for ages”.
She is also responsible for starting the ‘Ombre’ dip dye trend (or “bleachenders”, as they like to call it) of two-tone hair with light ends and dark roots, adopted by famous names such as Drew Barrymore and Alexa Chung.
Brownsell is a session hairstylist working for brands such as House ofHolland and Hermès, and a colourist to stars including MIA, Daisy Lowe andPixie Geldof.
