With only 54 days until Christmas, we decided to share and critique inspiring Christmas window display designs. Selfridges is always a good place to start…
This White Winter Wonderland theme in cased behind whispering windows, these windows are not dissimilar to the windows we fitted for the Red Bull music studio. These panels are fitted with specialist speakers that will bring music to your ears. Each pane is transformed into an enchanting, oversized music box, some playing re-engineered carols whilst others provide eerie, magical sounds to evoke the feeling of a ‘crystal clear Christmas’. Admirers are encouraged to play around with the windows to their heart’s content as each pane is equipped with a state-of-the-art touch-screen wind-up system to control the track.
Russ Jones and Scott King from Condiment Junkie, the London-based are the creative outfit behind the technology used on these particular windows. We love the theme, we will pay a visit shortly to see and hear the Selfridges windows for real. We will keep you posted.

The Inspiration: Mannequin Army
Prada’s influence on the British high street this year has been quite phenomenal. In terms of Visual Merchandising the Prada effect is influencing some of the biggest high street brands with ‘the ‘mannequin army’.This week alone we saw; H&M, Topshop and Next all employing this technique in their store entrances. Has anyone seen this technique being used anywhere else? I think at least 6 mannequins seems to be the key although even more = even more impact. So here we leave you with a little ‘Prada’ inspiration from the New York and LA stores.
